What measures has the VSM taken regarding COVID-19?
This year, the VSM will operate according to an adjusted timetable, from July 5th the steam train will be back in steam. Unfortunately we have had to cancel some packages and events. For a complete overview of our schedule please check the calendar. Are you planning to visit the VSM? Then take a look at our page with practical matters concerning our precautions.
Is it possible to pay with a bankcard?
It is only possible to pay with bankcard, cash is not available this year.
Do I have to make a reservation?
For all running days it is necessary to book your tickets in advance, ordering your tickets is possible via this website.
When does the steam train run?
Look in the calendar for the coloured riding days, the timetable can be found under the calendar. By clicking on a coloured riding day you will see which possible packages are offered on that day. We do not ride on the NON-coloured days.
What are the opening hours of the Museumstation?
The Museumstation Beekbergen is only accessible to visitors on days when the timetable is used, see our calendar for the driving days.
Outside the Museumstation Beekbergen is only accessible to visitors by appointment and/or accompanied by an employee of the VSM, it is not allowed to cycle in the yard.
Where can I park?
You can park next to the station of Beekbergen and on the adjacent meadow, enter the address Dorpstraat 140 (Beekbergen) in your navigation.
Is the VSM wheelchair accessible?
Yes, our platforms are barrier-free and one of our carriages is equipped with a wheelchair lift. For more information, see our special page.
Is my dog and/or bicycle allowed on the train?
Your dog is allowed on the steam train (with the exception of culinary arrangements, where assistance dogs are of course allowed). Due to the limited amount of space in the train, a bicycle is not possible to take with you this year.
Is the Museum Jaarkaart valid at the VSM?
No, the Museum Jaarkaart is not valid at the VSM.
How can I become a volunteer at the VSM?
You can register by sending an email to personeel@stoomtrein.org. You will be contacted as soon as possible. Or ask one of our employees in the workshop in Beekbergen on Saturday. They can also help you further.
Can I rent a steam or diesel train?
Rent the steam train for a day and return with your group to the warm atmosphere of the railway days of yesteryear. A ride on the historic steam train in which the chef prepares a delicious lunch, high tea or a hot/cold buffet for you in the mobile kitchen is an experience in itself. Can the main workshop in Apeldoorn be visited?
No, the VSM main workshop in Apeldoorn is not open to the public.
