Achter de schermen wordt druk gewerkt aan de voorbereidingen voor het nieuwe rijseizoen. Niet alleen de stoomlocomotieven krijgen aandacht, maar ook wordt tijdens de verplichte sluiting het Blokkendoos-restauratierijtuig grondig aangepakt. Een simpele lakbeurt is namelijk de afgelopen maanden uitgegroeid tot een complete interieurrevisie. Zo zijn onder andere de vloer, wandpanelen en de bar vernieuwd zodat het rijtuig weer een frisse uitstraling heeft. Maar niet alleen aan het uiterlijk is gedacht, ook aan het comfort is een grote slag geslagen. Een mooi voorbeeld hiervan zijn de houten voeten van de verlichtingsarmaturen van ons Blokkendoosrijtuig. Terwijl de ene vrijwilliger de voeten uit de opslag in Beekbergen heeft opgehaald, vervolgens thuis alle oude verflagen afgekrabd te hebben en de armaturen volledig kaal geschuurd te hebben. Is vervolgens een andere vrijwilligers thuis aan de slag gegaan om de voeten waar nodig te herstellen en de oude gaten voor de aansluitingen af te dichten. Terwijl achteraf weer een andere vrijwilliger de voeten in de oude kleurstellingen heeft gelakt en ze weer in Beekbergen afgeleverd voor montage terug in het rijtuig.
